Parish Council News Report March 2021

At the last meeting, Councillors were joined by Maisie McMahon, Safety Together Team coordinator and Marc Jones, Police and Crimes Commissioner for Lincolnshire. Maisie summarised her role for the purpose of the Parish Council and Marc his future plans for recruitment and enforcement, focusing on reducing crime across the County. It was beneficial for Councillors to speak to Maisie and Marc and Councillor Brooks continues to be a point of contact.

 

SPEED CHECKS – the Police have continued to support us with undertaking local speed checks and sadly continue to stop a number of motorists exceeding the 30MPH speed limit.

 

A number of planning applications were discussed (details available via the minutes of the meeting posted on the website), the first one being S21/0127 REL 2 Ltd & Hawthorn Leisure Ltd. Application for the erection of 15 dwellings (including 4 no. affordable units) at on Land East of The Royal Oak, 74 Main Road, Long Bennington. It was resolved to object referring to no drainage solutions, no reference to flooding in the area, it being contrary to Long Bennington Neighbourhood Plan, overdevelopment, extension of the village envelope, and reference to no consideration given to previous applications or SKDC negotiations.

 

S20/0775 Ablewhite. Application for outline planning permission for the erection of 50 dwellings (access to be considered only) at land West of Main Road, Long Bennington. It was resolved to comment, referring to previous letter and noting residents representations to the Parish Council in respect of retaining the hedgerow at its current height, having bungalows along the full boundary with The Pastures and suitable drainage solutions with reference to the CCTV report.

S20/0669 Smith. One mobile home and one touring caravan for a traveller.

It was confirmed that SKDC Development Control Committee voted against the recommendation to approve this application. The application, in these circumstances, must be presented again at the next Development Control Committee meeting to consider if the decision remains supported and can be upheld if appealed. Once further information is received, it will be reported.

 

Community Benefit Fund from Bypass Farm Solar Ltd. Councillors approved the execution of an undertaking relating to an approved solar farm accessed from Sewstern Lane. The agreement confirms payment will not be made until after grid connectivity.

 

DOG FOULING – still an increasing amount of dog poo in and around the village. PLEASE PICK IT UP!!!!
