Parish Council News Report January 2021
Parish Council meetings are still happening, and Councillors have resolved to continue to hold our meetings remotely until further notice. If you want to join one of the meeting via Zoom, please let me know.
At the January meeting, Councillors discussed the Flood Alleviation Scheme and Cllr Maughan advised of a slippage in timescales in all County schemes with the revised plan for a Long Bennington scheme now expected to be delivered in the 2022/23 financial year. Concerns over timescales were aired and it was agreed to arrange a meeting with Paul Brooks, Lincolnshire County Council to discuss the proposals.
Councillors were advised the Viking Way (at Sewstern Lane) has been damaged (possibly by green laners) and is now virtually impassable on foot. It was agreed to report to Lincs CC.
Witham Meadow continues to be used on a regular basis and enjoyed by our younger community. It is the intention by the Parish Council to enhance the space, replace the young trees that were removed shortly after planting last year and install a litter bin. If anyone has suggestions on how we can achieve more improvements, please let me know.

The Parish Council has launched a New Long Bennington Parish Council Website
Courtesy of Lincolnshire County, our redesigned website is full of local information, village contacts and district council links. On the parish pages there are guides to where to get things done, like reporting a highways fault, examining a planning application, finding your bin collection day and accessing county help sites. There are important parish notices on the news page and monthly additions of all the parish council agendas, meeting reports and financial information. The site is fully accessible and works on phones and all devices.
