County Council Report |
|
Cllrs were given a summary of County Council Budget updates with £7m extra funding being available for road improvement schemes and to help reduce the TRO backlog. Also, £9m from reserves that had previously been allocated will now be released and it is expected this will be used for highway maintenance. AM advised that LCC has raised concerns over financial burden for healthcare provision etc for proposed asylum seekers being housed at RAF Scampton. Cllrs referred to the update on the Cycle Scheme and it was confirmed the remainder of the work is to be completed by the end of May. Once completed enforcement officers will visit the site to ensure compliance. PW referred to potholes on Valley Lane to the A1 slip road and it was suggested and agreed to report the issue again as the problem has not been resolved ACTION PW It was suggested and agreed to highlight the potholes on Valley Lane (near the entrance to Gas Direct), at the village walkabout with Rowan Smith, LCC Highways on 17th April. AM confirmed Moor Lane will be resurfaced in June. |

District Council Report |

PW advised fewer meetings have taken place due to local elections. It was confirmed it has been agreed to wind up Environment SK (set up as a separate company to deliver local grounds maintenance jobs). It was confirmed an invoice has been issued to Ablehomes in respect of the Section 106 monies that are now overdue. Cllrs referred to the proposed car park at the Playing Field and it was agreed to check on progress of the related planning application. ACTION CLERK |

JL confirmed a letter has been sent to the local Diocese and a meeting has been arranged to discuss a way forward. Enquiries with Larkin & Co have resulted in the ability to inspect papers held, subject to approval from the PC and Trustees. RESOLVED to provide formal authorisation for JL to inspect, on behalf of the PC, the legal documents held by Larkin and Co. ACTION CLERK |
